Synopsis[]
Jack, given the task of cleaning up the CIA, makes difficult decisions that have immediate consequences. A cartel operator moves in the shadows to organize an important meeting.
Plot[]
Myanmar - 3 Weeks in the Future[]
Jack is found to be trussed up in a drippy Myanmar torture chamber, his captors at the ready with jumper cables and a car battery.
Lagos, Nigeria - Present Day[]
An assault team infiltrates the presidential palace and murders the Nigerian President Udo.
White House[]
Jack Ryan, now Deputy Director of the CIA, and Director Wright as they take a meeting with the President of the United States. As it turns out, the operatives in Nigeria were using CIA gear, and the man they killed was the Nigerian President, but neither Ryan nor Wright knows whether the operation was a CIA one or not. Jack also mentions that outgoing CIA Director Miller ran a few hushed operation. That Jack was going to shut down.
Yucatan, Mexico[]
Domingo Chavez murders Emilio, the head of the Perez Cartel. He takes Emilio’s severed hands in a chest to the head of the Marquez Cartel.
Washington, D.C[]
After the gala Ryan and Mueller return to his home, Chavez, hiding in the dark, puts a gun to Ryan's head and tells him that he has 24 hours to "turn Pluto back on" before vanishing.
