Admiral Joshua Painter is a character that appears in several novels of the Ryanverse.
Biography[]
In 1970, Painter was a Squadron Commander flying F-4 Phantom II’s off the flight deck of USS Constellation in support of Operation Boxwood Green. By 1984, he had been promoted to a Rear Admiral (Lower Half) and was the Commander of the Enterprise Carrier Battle Group. Four years later in 1988, Painter had become a Vice Admiral and was the Chief of Naval Aviation. In 1991, he been promoted to Admiral and was the Commander-in-Chief, Atlantic Fleet.
