Prime Minister Hiroshi Goto (Japanese: 後藤寛, Hepburn: Gotō Hiroshi) is a character that appears in the novel, Debt of Honor.
Biography[]
In 1995, Goto was a Japanese politician who was known to be an aggressive nationalist and critic of the U.S. Following Mogataru Koga's resignation as Japan's Prime Minister due to the country's economic crisis, Goto was installed as the new Prime Minister by the leader of the zaibatsu, Raizo Yamata. After assuming his position, he had his mistress, Kimberly Norton, an American national, killed as she was deemed a security risk. Shortly after, Yamata orchestrated the war between Japan and the United States. After Japan suffered heavy losses against the United States and it's economy was in ruins, Goto resigned and ceded power back to Koga.
