Rafael "Bud" Sanchez is a character that appears in several Ryanverse novels.
Biography[]
In 1995, Sanchez was the Commander of the Carrier Air Group (CAG) on USS John C. Stennis. He also had previous experience with Admiral Robby Jackson, commanding officer of the Stennis Battle group. During the events of Hunt for Red October, then-Commander Jackson was Squadron Leader of one of the F-14A squadrons flying off the USS John F. Kennedy, during which deployment Sanchez is his wingman. Sanchez would again fly off Robby’s wing during his CAG tour with USS Theodore Roosevelt during the events of The Sum of All Fears.
